This study employed quantitative research approaches. Questionnaires were used as research tools to collect data from 92 samples who had applied to become soldiers via online channels for military recruitment at the Artillery Center (Bhumibol Camp), Lopburi Province, selected using Taro Yamane’s formula. The statistical methods used in this study include percentage, mean, standard deviation, and descriptive data synthesis to provide an overall analysis. The results showed that 1) the motivational factors for applying to join the military via online channels include salary, career advancement opportunities, future career growth potential, and job security. And 2) the demand factors influencing applicants involve the need for security and safety, the desire for love and social belonging, the need for recognition and respect, and the aspiration for success in life. Therefore, to enhance recruitment motivation, several strategies are recommended. These include increasing public relations efforts to promote the military’s image as honorable and prestigious to gain public trust, expanding recruitment information dissemination using more personnel, and improving the quality of life for recruits by enhancing welfare benefits, salaries, educational opportunities, vocational training, and other aspects, more effectively. Furthermore, a five-step selection process should be implemented to ensure the recruitment of qualified candidates, ultimately developing the system towards a volunteer-based recruitment model in the future.</p> Major Suriya Saweangsup , Pathan Suvannamongkol , Chalermporn Yenyuak Copyright (c) 2025 Doctor of Philosophy in Social Sciences Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpssj/article/view/4916 Fri, 15 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700 The Relationship between Gender, Education, and Training on Digital News Ethical Consciousness of Mass Communication Students https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpssj/article/view/4758 <p> This research investigates the relationships between gender, educational institutions, and the ethical consciousness in digital news reporting among mass communication students who have undergone professional training and who have not. A mixed-methods approach was employed, consisting of quantitative data from 425 students selected via multistage sampling and qualitative data from 25 students selected via purposive sampling, totaling 450 participants. Data were collected by using questionnaires and in-depth interviews, and were analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA. The results show that gender, type of educational institution, and participation in professional training influenced students’ ethical consciousness which was at a medium level. When considering consciousness in each aspect, students who had undergone training exhibited higher levels of ethical reasoning, particularly in critical thinking during information gathering and news presentation. The qualitative data revealed that students emphasized daily life rather than social behavior, accuracy, verification of sources, and avoidance of sensational or misleading contents and inappropriate images which attract attention but could lead to a claim. The findings offer valuable insights for universities and media organizations to design curriculum and professional development programs that strengthen ethical awareness in future media professions.</p> Wattanee Phoovatis Copyright (c) 2025 Doctor of Philosophy in Social Sciences Journal https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpssj/article/view/4758 Fri, 15 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Organizational Engagement of Personnel at the College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/dpssj/article/view/5039 <p> This research article aimed to (1) examine the level of organizational engagement and (2) analyze the influencing factors among personnel at the College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).
