The sample consisted of 333 secondary school students from Rajavinit Nonthaburi School, with 175 male students (52.6%) and 158 female students (47.4%). When categorized by grade level, 178 students (53.5%) were in lower secondary school, and 155 students (46.5%) were in upper secondary school. The research tool was the Thai version of the Motivation for Physical Activity and Leisure Time Scale, consisting of 8 components and 37 indicators: 1) enjoyment, 2) training, 3) social participation, 4) image, 5) competition/comparison with others, 6) psychological state, 7) physical state, and 8) impression /expectations from others. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and the comparison of motivation and participation in physical activities was conducted based on gender and grade level using an independent t-test. The results revealed that comparison of the motivation for physical activity and leisure time utilization between male and female students had a statistically significant difference, in which male students engaged in more physical activity than female students. However, no statistically significant difference was found between grade levels, though lower secondary school students were found to engage in more physical activity and leisure time activities than upper secondary school students, based on the mean values.

Keywords: Motivation, Physical activity, Leisure time
Thanida Bhasavanija, Chutiporn Thumyoma, Nareeon Suradee, Thanyanan Malee, Kanokpun Klingtale, Soonthorn Mansguan Copyright (c) 2025 Humanities Journal (Graduate School), Ramkhamhaeng University https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/ghuru/article/view/5085 Fri, 08 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700 RATIONAL DECISION TO EXERCISE AND SPORT TYPES AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THAILAND https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/ghuru/article/view/5084
ABSTRACT
The objectives of this study are: 1) to examine the rational decision-making process in selecting exercise forms among secondary school students in Thailand, and 2) to compare the rational decision-making in selecting exercise forms among secondary school students in different regions of Thailand, categorized by gender and grade level. The sample consists of secondary school students in the first semester of the 2024 academic year from 12 schools across 6 regions of Thailand, with 2 provinces per region and 1 school per province, totaling 480 students. The research tool is a questionnaire on rational decision-making in selecting exercise forms among secondary school students in Thailand. Data analysis will be conducted. Data analysis was conducted using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation statistics. 2) Comparisons were made using one-way ANOVA, and when significant differences were found, Scheffé's post-hoc test was applied for pairwise comparisons. The research results indicated that
1) Students made rational decisions when choosing exercise forms. When considering the average scores in each aspect, it was found that secondary school students in Thailand demonstrated rational decision-making in choosing exercise forms at a "moderate level" in all aspects, except for the health-related reasons, which were rated at a "high level." When categorized by gender, male students showed higher average rational decision-making in all aspects compared to female students. When categorized by grade level, high school students had higher average rational decision-making than middle school students in all aspects, except for decisions influenced by external circumstances, where middle school students scored higher on average.
2) The comparison of rational decision-making in selecting exercise forms, categorized by region, found no statistically significant differences overall or in any specific aspect (F = 1.35, p = 0.23).

Keywords : decision-making, questionnaire, secondary school students
Prapawadee Kusolrod, Patcharin Chaiwan, Supattra Huaihongtong, Thi Viet Ha Le Copyright (c) 2025 Humanities Journal (Graduate School), Ramkhamhaeng University https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/ghuru/article/view/5116 Thu, 31 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Thai School Uniforms as a Tool of Thailand’s Soft Power Promotion among Chinese Youth https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/ghuru/article/view/5417
Currently, the word Soft power is gaining interest among Thai people. And this word is widely used in government agencies, the private sector, the educational and academic sectors or even the general public. Thai School uniforms is also one of the soft power of Thailand that can create additional economic value for Thailand as well as helping to stimulate the economy in another way. The trend for Thai school uniforms has been around for more than 10 years, since 2012, after the Thai movie “A Little Thing Called Love” was released in China and was liked by Chinese teenagers. The main actor dresses in school uniform throughout the film movie. However, the phenomenon of Thai school uniform fever among Chinese teenagers is the result of Ju Jingyi, a Chinese singer and actress who traveled to Thailand wearing a Thai school uniform, embroidered her name and identification codes and shared it through the Weibo application. It stimulated the trend of wearing Thai school uniforms to travel in Thailand and reinforcing the soft power of Thailand. It is about adding value and creating a Creative Economy for related industries. Thai school uniforms can be used as a tool to promote Thailand's soft power in spreading arts, culture, and way of life in order to build Thai popularity at the international level among Chinese people who are the target for promoting Thai tourism after the resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Krissada Promvek, Prachaya Chumnaseaw, Sudarat Tipapong Copyright (c) 2025 Humanities Journal (Graduate School), Ramkhamhaeng University https://so08.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/ghuru/article/view/5417 Sun, 24 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0700
