DEVELOPMENT OF THE MEMORIZATION SKILLS OF THE AKHYAN POEMS OF THE THIRD YEAR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH THE THINK-PAIR-SHARE TECHNIQUE

Abstract
This research aimed to compare the memorization skills of Akhyan poems using the Think-Pair-Share learning method for Mathayom 3 (Grade 9) students. This quasi-experimental research was conducted with 15 Mathayom 3 (Grade 9) students in the first semester of the 2022 academic year at Wang Nam Yen Wittayakhom School, Sa Kaeo Province, under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office, Sa Kaeo District 7. The research instruments consisted of 1) four lesson plans using the Think-Pair-Share technique, with a 4-hour duration; and 2) a test for memorizing Akhyan poems. Statistics used included means, standard deviations, and univariate t-tests.
The results revealed that the average achievement score for Akhyan poem memorization after using the Think-Pair-Share technique was 18.40, significantly higher than the average score before learning (10.00) at the .05 level. This indicates that the Think-Pair-Share technique is effective in promoting students' memorization skills and providing them with a systematic opportunity to exchange ideas with their peers, contributing to in-depth learning. And can apply the knowledge in real life.
