GUIDELINE DEVELOPMENT PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS’ PARENTS IN EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT OF MUNICIPALITY MAE KU SCHOOL, MAE SOD DISTRICT, TAK PROVINCE

Abstract

The purpose of this study were 1) to study problems and obstacles in participating of students’ parents in educational management of municipality Mae Ku school, Mae Sod District, Tak Province. 2) to find the ways to make suggestions on the parents’ participation in educational management of municipality Mae Ku school, Mae Sod District, Tak Province. The sample group consisted of 236 parents of students who are studying in the first Kindergarten to Prathom 6 of municipality Mae Ku school in Academic Calendar 2018.
The research findings revealed that: 1) the operating level in the participation of students’ parents in educational management of municipality Mae Ku school, Mae Sod District, Tak Province were at the high level of practice. When considered by each side, it was found that the aspect with the highest mean value was the beneficial participation followed by the evaluative participation, the operating participation while the determined participation and the thinking participation were equivalent at the lowest mean value. The analysis results of problems and obstacles in the participation of students’ parents indicated that the most common problems with participation in practice, especially in parents are lacked of participation in promoting the learning process of students. 2) The guidelines for the development of participation of students’ parents in educational management of municipality Mae Ku school. From interviewing the professionals, the ways to make suggestions on the students’ parents’ participation were: 1) to encourage and support the establishment of a parent network for getting the knowledge and understanding in school administration system and parents’ roles. 2) to arrange a parent meeting activity among parents’ network and School Board for discussing about the problems, requirements in order to design the planning process of finding the ways to improve the problems in students and school. 3) to organize learning activities between parents and students in order to have cooperation in promoting mutual learning processes. Give an opportunity for parents with special talents to help as a speaker or a teacher assistant in organizing such as Work shop, School tour, Wisdom playground and natural learning resource in order to create an atmosphere that is conducive to learn.
