Guidelines for Family Planning in Islamic Teachings

Abstract

The objectives of this academic article are to study the meaning, importance and elements of guidelines for family planning in Islamic teachings, has the following objectives: 1) to study the importance of family planning; 2) to study the components of family planning; 3) to apply it in managing family life. This article is a descriptive and analytical document. The study resulted in finding that the elements which are important to family planning include, a process of life planning, encompasses the process of establishing short-term and long-term goals and developing action plans to achieve them, using the family as a foundation. Therefore, it is crucial to enhance quality of life in terms of physical, mental, and financial readiness, fostering a stable and high-quality family. Key approaches to family planning include: 1) selecting spouse, 2) family responsibilities, 3) bringing up children, and 4) creating good examples. The family planning based on the aforesaid important elements could help generate good relationship, mutual care, love and solidarity which enable individuals, family and society to gain well-being and peace.
