Achievements of integrated teaching and learning management using Active Learning: A study of third-year students in the Language Styles in Thai Literature course at Chiang Rai Rajabhat University

Abstract

The objectives of this research are 1) to study efficiency of integrated learning management by using Active Learning, 2) to compare learning achievements before and after the instruction, and 3) to evaluate efficiency of the instruction on third-year students in the course titled Language Styles in Thai Literature. The sample obtained through the purposive sampling method comprised 17 third-year Thai majors of the Thai Language and Culture program, Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Rai Rajabhat University. The research instruments consisted of 1) lesson plans, 2) pre- and post-achievement tests, and 3) an evaluation form of the learning management. Descriptive statistics were applied, namely percentage, means, standard deviation, and t-values. The findings are shown as follows: 1. The score of integrated learning management process using Active Learning was 82.35%, and the product score after the instruction was 83.38. 2. The achievement test scores before and after the instruction were 8.88 and 16.53 respectively. The pretest score was statistically found significantly higher than the posttest score (p < 0.05). 3. Overall, the efficiency of the instruction were rated at high level (x̅ = 4.44).
