Thai Language Usage Problems of Chinese Students Majoring in Thai Language, Yunnan Agricultural University, People’s Republic of China

Abstract

The research “Thai language usage problems of Chinese students majoring in Thai language, Yunnan agricultural university, People Republic of Chin aimed to understand the problem conditions and the frequency of Thai language usage problems of Chinese students by studying 863 works of students. The results found that there are 3 types of problems, namely a writing problem,a word usage problem and a sentence structure problem.The most found problem as 68.15 percent is writing, the second is the word usage found in 19.22 percent of the works of students analyzed, while the sentence structure problem was found at 12.63 percent accordingly. Those problems were caused by various factors such as the inefficient understanding principles and usage of the Thai language, the students inaccurate pronunciation affecting the writing and the misuse of the language,the intervention of the mother tongue, and the discretion of the language use.
