Development of Wind Band Performers in a Secondary Level of Thailand Amidst the Coronavirus Pandemic Situation 2019

Abstract

This article aims to present guidelines for wind band teachers. In terms of the development of secondary level wind bands in Thailand in the midst of the coronavirus 2019 pandemic,wind bands at secondary level are an activity in educational institutions that focuses on improving their music performance skills as well as developing musical knowledge. However,this situation creates obstacles to learning, teaching, and rehearsal. The author presented the development guidelines for secondary level wind band performers with three development elements: 1) Music Theory Development, 2) Ear Training Development, and 3) Sound Concept Development, which are emphasis elements and can be used for online learning and teaching, including online technology media, to help the three components development be effective. Also, it is a preparation of theoretical knowledge and ear training, including music aesthetics for performers before entering into performance processing after the Coronavirus 2019 pandemic in the future.
