The Link of Western Dance Aesthetics and Consumers

Dance is an art that reflects the historical link between aesthetics and consumers’ behavior, especially in Western dance. The writer gathered information from the history of Western dance and the concepts of aesthetic philosophy. Then, the data were analyzed in the aspects of the popularity and influence of Western dance towards consumers reflecting the evolution and the aesthetic concept, the tastes of consumers in different periods from the past when people danced to express their respect to the gods, to plead for farming, healing and celebration. In Medieval Europe, dramatic had been changed as a tool to designate social classes. The flourishing of arts came back in the Renaissance period and continued to the period that artists had to find a way to demonstrate their own characteristics to exchange their own experiences to consumers. Until present time, artists has been challenging with the levels of arts. In this article, the findings showed the evolution of Western dance reflecting social conditions and consumers’ popularity in logically chronological order, and showed the trend of the growth of Western Dance and consumers’ tastes that are more and more diverse.
