A Study of Word Structure of Food Naming in Thai Recipe Book: A Case of Her Ladyship's Plain Phassakorawong "Mae Krua Hua Pa" Recipe Book

Abstract

The aticle aims to analyze the word structures of food naming in Thai recipe book "Mae Krua Hua Pa" written by Her Ladyship Plian Passakorawong. The findings reveal the nine categories of word structures. Each structure is composed of 1-3 elements.Those of which include main Ingredients, methods of cooking, sources, and tastes of each food. Those terms not only express well-nutritious consumption, but also index the Thais, food consuming culture.
