Abstract

Bamboo is a native plant commonly found in Southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, which has an abundant supply of bamboo. It is considered a renewable material that can be regrown in a short period compared to other types of wood. Therefore, bamboo is widely used in vernacular architecture. In addition to its use in furniture and housing, bamboo is also often employed as scaffolding in construction due to its light weight, ease of transport, durability, flexibility, and ease of assembly and dismantling, as well as being more affordable than metal scaffolding. This article focuses on studying the limitations of forming structures with bamboo to develop a "Guild Book" or a set of guidelines for bamboo assembly, specifically for stage construction. The study found that bamboo structures have the potential for stage design, reflecting eco-friendliness, flexibility in design alterations, easy repair, cost-efficiency, and the ability to be assembled and dismantled without the need for specialized expertise.
