Guidelines for Improving the Living Environment of Low-income Elderly People in the Wat Phra Kaew Community, Chiang Rai Province

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze and present housing adjustment guidelines for low-income elderly people, with a systematic research methodology by analyzing data from the assessment model, the assessment model and the housing model. In order to create a guideline for the adaptation of the living environment using the concept of Universal Design, the Ministry’s Rules Defining Facilities in Buildings for the Disabled or Disabled and the Elderly, 2nd Edition, 2019, and proposes a guideline for the adaptation of the living environment of the elderly with low income. Research Results Objectives 1. It was found that the area that needs the most environmental adjustment is the bathroom and other areas, such as slopes, stairs, traffic or building connections, entrance-exit doors, to provide environmental adjustment to reduce the occurrence of collapse accidents and strengthen the grip. It is found that the guidelines for adjusting the living environment of low-income elderly people from the comparison on elderly care policies in Japan and Thailand conclude that policies should focus on long-term care for the elderly and emphasize that the elderly can live in their context.
