Study on Warehouse Development to Support the E-Commerce Market of XXX Company Limited
Abstract
This research’s objectives were (1) to study the development of warehouses to support the e-commerce market of XXX Company Limited and (2) to reduce problems in warehouse operations to support the e-commerce market of XXX Company Limited. It was a qualitative study by the method of interviewing 10 people.
The results of the study revealed that (1) MAN, lack of knowledge in warehouse management, (2) MACHINE, the information system is not comprehensive in the warehouse sector, (3) MATERIAL, lack of efficient working equipment, and (4) METHOD, inadequate product management. Warehouse management is not appropriate. Therefore, the fishbone chart and the Pareto principle have been applied to manage the new warehouse. Improvement of workflow by making a stock card system was also applied to monitor the movement of each goods item. The storage was designed and categorized according to sales by product, and the diagram of the storage layout was fixed, making the products organized, and the period for disbursement of goods reduced.
