FACTORS AFFECTING PUBLIC HEALTH PERSONNEL’S WORK PERFORMANCE EFFICIENCY IN MUEANG DISTRICT, SAMUTPRAKARN PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research were: 1. To Study the level of public health personnel’s work performance efficiency, 2. To study factors affecting public health personnel’s work performance efficiency, and 3. To study the problems, obstacles, and suggestions of public health personnel’s work performance efficiency in Mueang district, Samutprakarn Province. The methodology was mixed methods. The quantitative research was conducted by studying 319 samples of public health personnel. The data were collected by 5 rating scale questionnaires with a reliability value 0.971. The statistics used for data collection were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regressions. In-depth interviewing of 10 key informants conducted the qualitative research. The data were analysed by content analysis. Findings were as follows: 1. Iddhibāda 4 was found to be at the highest level. 2. Iddhibāda 4 and work motivation affected the public health personnel’s work performance efficiency with a statistically significant level of 0.01. Iddhibāda 4 predicted the variation at 38.1 per cent for work motivation at 36.3 per cent. 3. The problems and obstacles were as follows: 1. Some personnel lacked the work knowledge and understanding. 2. The working environment was not good and polluted. Suggestions were: 1. There should be promoting knowledge and abilities building for personnel based on Iddhibāda 4, 2. There should be an appropriate organisational environment for the total potential uses of personnel.
