INTEGRATION ACCORDING TO BUDDHIST METHODS FOR PROMOTING PEOPLE’S PARTICIPATORY POLITICAL CULTURE IN NAKHON SAWAN PROVINCE

Abstract

This research aims as follows: 1. To study the participatory political culture of the people in Nakhon Sawan Province, 2. To study the factors affecting the participatory political culture of the people in Nakhon Sawan Province, 3. To present the integration of Buddhist methods to promote the participatory political culture of the people in Nakhon Sawan Province. The research design was mixed methods. Qualitative research used in-depth interview with key informants. Data was analyzed by descriptive content analysis and focus group discussions. Quantitative research used questionnaires to collect data from a sample of 400 people. Data were analyzed by finding frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. and multiple regression analysis.

The research results found that 1. The participatory political culture of the people in Nakhon Sawan Province consists of, 1. having confidence in participation, 2. having confidence in the equality of persons, 3. Respect for following social rules, 4. Participation in decision-making in political activities, 5. Responsibility as a good citizen, 6. Trust, 7. Creative criticism, 8. Have a love for equality. 2. Factors affecting the participatory political culture of the people in Nakhon Sawan Province are, 1. Political nurturing in terms of political institutions, media institutions, educational institutions, and professional groups, with statistical significance at 0.01, indicating that political nurturing affects the participatory political culture of the people in Nakhon Sawan Province by 56.90 percent. 2. Integration according to the Buddhist principles of the 6 Saraniya Dhammas in terms of Metta-Vacikamma Ditthisamanyata Silasamanyata Metta-Kayakamma, with statistical significance at 0.05, indicating that the 6 Saraniya Dhammas can integrate and promote the participatory political culture of the people in Nakhon Sawan Province by 65.20 percent.
