Assessment of a Set of Activities to Promote English Language Communication Skills for Kindergarten in Sarasas Witaed Nakhon Ratchasima School Academic Year 2022

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to 1) assess a set of activities to promote English communication skills in early childhood. The target group used in this study consisted of 9 experts who were appointed to assess the suitability of various components, consisting of external experts, and experts from within Sarasas Witaed Nakhon Ratchasima School with experience and expertise in teaching English, and teaching in early childhood. The set of activities packages consisted of 1) 4 learning experience plans 2) activities to promote English communication skills in early childhood 3) 4 activities and worksheets 4) a behavioral observation form after using the activity package. Data Collection Tools: The researchers created tools from the study of documents and research related to the assessment of this series of activities. The tool was a form to assess the suitability of the components of the English language skill enhancement activity set titled “Animals”. Upon completion, a conformity assessment form of the activity suit assessment form was prepared by 3 experts to find the consistency (IOC). Consistent with the purpose and content of 0.89, these experts have concluded that a series of activities to promote English communication skills at the early childhood level about Animals, can be applied to children, and asked to appoint 9 experts to assess the suitability of the activity package. The results of the analysis revealed a series of activities to promote English communication skills at the pre-primary level both experts have agreed that it was a very good level (mean= 4.81, standard deviation = 0.40), suitable for use in activities to enhance experiences for early childhood children.
