The Analytical Study of The Problems in Instructional Management for Programs of Certificate in English for Careers: Language Institute of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University

Abstract

The objectives of this research article are: 1) to study the problems and obstacles in managing program of certificate in English for Careers, and 2) to study the solutions in managing certificate program in English for Careers. The research study was conducted by analyzing with the relevant research papers, in-depth interview with the executives of language institute, lecturers, staffs and students from the programs. The results found that:

1) There are various aspects of problems and obstacles of instructional management for program of certificate in English for Careers due to lack of experience in curriculum management including five other aspects as follows: 1) curriculum, 2) assessment and evaluation, 3) instructional management, 4) instructors, 5) learners and facilitation.

2) Regarding the solutions, suggested that the revision of the program of certificate in English for careers should provide; facilities, revising the contents of curriculum, lowering the credit expenses, have explicit time tables, provide attractive teachers, sufficient textbooks, additional staff to follow up the works and motivate students to make both the program’s instructional management more efficient and effective.
