Development of a management model for vocational training to enhance four desirable characteristics for students at Phetchaburi Vocational College

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) develop a management model of professional experience training to enhance 4 desirable characteristics for students at Phetchaburi Vocational College and 2) evaluate the management model of professional experience training to enhance 4 desirable characteristics for students at Phetchaburi Vocational College. This research was designed as a qualitative study of which the data were gathered from 40 experts via semi-structured interviews validated for the consistency and quality with the IOC between 0.50-1.00 of content validity. The statistics for data analysis included percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results of the research were as follows. 1. The results of the study of the problems in professional experience training to enhance 4 desirable characteristics for students at Phetchaburi Vocational College showed that the management model equired 4P Model and 4 desirable characteristics, i.e., 1) discipline 2) responsibility 3) honesty and 4) avidity for in learning. 2. The evaluation of the management model for the professional experience training of students at Phetchaburi Vocational College consisted of 2 main parts. 1) Assessment and certification of the management model for the professional experience training of students at Phetchaburi Vocational College reached an average of 4.80-4.40 with the highest overall average of 4.67±0.50. When considering each aspect, from highest to lowest, the top 3 with the highest average are model responding to the needs for professional experience training   of students in workplaces, with the highest average of 4.80±0.45 followed by the principles of the development of the model appropriate for workplaces and educational institutions, with an average of 4.80±0.45 and thirdly, the objectives of the model being appropriate, with an average of 4.80±0.45 percent respectively. 2) Assessment and certification of the quality of the manual for the management model for professional experience training reached an average of 4.20±5.00 with the highest level of possibility at 5.00±0.00. When considering each aspect, the average values from the highest to the lowest of each aspect are as follows. Education in the form of professional experience training in the workplace has the highest average value on the details of the manual, with easy-to-understand language, and user friendly manual with an average of 5.00±0.00. The second aspect is on the details of the manual which is consistent with the desirable characteristics of students, with easy-to-understand language, and user friendly manual with an average of 4.80±0.45. The third rank was on the details of the manual which is consistent with the administration of the educational institution with an average of 4.60±0.55, respectively.
