Innovative Information Services for Libraries

This article discusses innovative information services for libraries. The content is presented in four topics: 1) the definition of innovative information services 2) innovative sources for designing innovative services in the library, namely the experience economy concept, service design methodology, and information and communication technologies, 3) the 3-step innovative information service design process: empathizing, designing, and testing, and 4) examples of innovative information services offered by the library, namely information push services, knowledge services, application services for smart phones and tablet devices, 3D imaging service, information services on the library web page, file services, information services at the user’s office, and integrated access to information services.
