Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the integration of Buddhist principles, particularly the Four Sangahavatthu (bases of social solidarity), with modern public service principles, comprising equality, continuity, and adaptation, in developing public services of local administrative organizations. The study found that applying the Four Sangahavatthu in conjunction with modern public service principles can concretely enhance service efficiency. Dana (giving) supports the principle of equality in service delivery; Piyavaca (endearing speech) and Atthacariya (useful conduct) align with service continuity; and Samanattata (consistent treatment) supports the principle of continuous improvement for better service delivery. The findings also indicate that this integration of Buddhist principles helps cultivate service consciousness, improve service quality, and promote positive relationships between local administrative organizations and citizens, leading to enhanced public services that truly respond to people's needs.
