THE ROLE OF THE GOVERNMENT IN ACHIEVING SUSTAINABILITY: STRATEGIC CONCEPTS IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Abstract

This article explored the critical role of governments in driving sustainable development, emphasizing strategic concepts in public administration to address complex challenges in today’s rapidly changing world. Governments are positioned as central agents in balancing economic, social, and environmental dimensions through clear policy formulation, efficient resource management, and fostering collaboration between private sectors, communities, and other stakeholders. The article highlighted that strategic approaches such as building resilient and adaptive systems, promoting technological innovation, and enhancing public participation were key tools to achieve sustainable development goals effectively. Examples of international success, such as renewable energy initiatives and water resource management, demonstrated how collaboration and technology can yield positive outcomes for both society and the environment. From the author’s perspective, the role of governments in sustainability extends beyond addressing immediate issues; it involves creating systems that can adapt to future changes.
