BUDDHADHAMMA INTEGRATION FOR PROMOTING THE LEADERSHIP OF LOCAL POLITICIANS IN NONGKHAI PROVINCE

Abstract

Objectives of this research article were: 1. To study the political leadership of local politicians in Nong Khai Province, 2. To study the factors affecting the political leadership of local politicians in Nong Khai Province and 3. To integrate the principles of Buddhism to promote the political leadership of local politicians in Nong Khai Province. The mixed-method research was used. The qualitative research used in-depth interviews with 18 key informants. Descriptive content interpretation analysis and focus group discussions with 10 people or people were used to confirm the knowledge obtained after data synthesis.  The quantitative research, a questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.938 was used to collect data from samples of 400 people. Data were analyzed by finding the frequency, percentage, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis.

The findings revealed three key insights: 1. Political leadership It was found that local politicians must face social challenges such as economic inequality, having a vision to solve social challenges, being able to set concrete guidelines, and supporting and mobilizing resources to solve social challenges. 2. Factors affecting political leadership included personality, knowledge, communication skills, and having good governance principles in administration, which can jointly predict political leadership at 32.80 percent at a statistically significant level of 0.01. At the same time, the 7 principles of Sappurisadhamma, Dhammanyuta - knowing the cause, Mattanyuta - knowing the moderation, Kalanyuta - knowing the time, and Parisanyuta - knowing the community, also influenced promoting political leadership to a certain extent, accounting for 47.40 percent. 3. Integrating Buddhist principles helped promote political leadership in local politicians who know the cause, know the effect, know themselves, know the moderation, know the time, know the community, and know people.
