Designing and Finding Efficiency of a Device to Hold a Bamboo Ladder on a Pick-up Truck

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) design, construct, and find the efficiency of a device to hold a bamboo ladder on a pick-up truck, 2) test the efficiency of the device to hold a bamboo ladder on a pick-up truck, and 3) study the satisfaction of the users towards the device to hold a bamboo ladder on a pick-up truck. The samples of the study included 20 technicians working for both government and private agencies in the maintenance of electricity system and lighting system in Muang Songkhla District derived by purposive sampling technique. The research tools included the experiment record form and satisfaction. questionnaires analyzed by percentage, mean, and SD. The results revealed that: 1) the device to hold a bamboo ladder on a pick-up truck consisted of a strong base that can be placed on a truck bed and firmly locked at the top railing of any make and model pick-up truck. The ladder holding base can rotate of 360 deg C with at least 8-direction adjustment. The ladder holding device can grip the bamboo ladder at the vertical position with the height of 4 to 6 meters. The ladder can be firmly installed on the pick-up truck bed using the device locking part at the base, the middle part, and the upper part. The base can be adjusted for the most appropriate position when operating. 2) The efficiency evaluation of the ladder holding device was on the strength of the base structure, the ladder grips, the ladder base, and the supporting arms for the front and the rear parts of the ladder. The results revealed the operating efficiency of the device at 100%. 3) The users' satisfaction towards the bamboo ladder grip device was at very high level.
