Development of reading comprehension practice sets using Thai literature in the lesson of students in grade 3, Arkat Amnuay Suksa School Sakon Nakhon Province

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) Develop a set of reading comprehension training materials using Thai literature for grade 9 students s at Arkat Amnuay Suksa School in Sakon Nakhon Province, with the goal of achieving an effectiveness rate of 80/80. 2) Compare the reading comprehension performance using Thai literature for grade 9 students at Arkat Amnuay Suksa School in Sakon Nakhon Province before and after the training. The research sample consisted of 24 students from 3/10 grade at Arkat Amnuay Suksa School, Amphoe Arkat Amnuay, Sakon Nakhon Province, selected through simple random sampling. The research tools included 5 learning management plans, 5 skill training exercises, and a 25-item multiple-choice test to measure reading comprehension effectiveness. The research findings indicate that: 1) The development of reading comprehension skills using the training materials based on Thai literature for grade 9 students school at Arkat Amnuay School, Amphoe Arkat Amnuay, Sakon Nakhon Province, was found to be higher than the specified efficient standard criteria of 80.56/85.66. 2) The comparison of pre-training and post-training reading comprehension performance for grade 9 students at Arkat Amnuay School, Amphoe Arkat Amnuay, Sakon Nakhon Province, revealed that students had significantly higher post-training performance compared to pre-training, with a statistical significance at the .05 level
