Learning Management Based on Social and Emotional Learning to Enhance the Teamwork Abilities of Chemistry Students

Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to investigate the development of teamwork skills among chemistry students through Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) management, and 2) to examine students' satisfaction with the SEL-based instructional approach. The sample consisted of 32 third-year chemistry students enrolled in the course 513 472-165 (Color Chemistry and Applications) during the second semester of the 2025 academic year, Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University. The research instruments included: 1) SEL-based lesson plans, 2) a teamwork skills assessment form, and 3) a satisfaction survey. Data were analyzed using Mean (M) and Standard Deviation (SD).


The research findings were as follows:


  1. The development of teamwork skills among chemistry students through Social and Emotional Learning management reached a very good level (M = 3.72, SD = 0.33).

  2. The students’ satisfaction with the Social and Emotional Learning management was at a very high level (M = 4.53, SD = 0.61).
