A study of the needs needed to develop methods for teaching Thai arts

The objective of this research is to study the needs of students regarding the teaching and learning management of the Art educations curriculum at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University. The sample group consists of first to fifth-year students in the Art educations program at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, for the academic years 2561-2565, totaling 50 people. The sample was selected using Quota Sampling, with a proportional representation of each class level of 10 participants. The research tools used were a questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale. The statistical measures used include percentages, means, standard deviations, and findings from the research are as follows:
1. Data analysis overall regarding Thai art is at a moderate level. When considering specific aspects, it was found that the aspect with the highest average score is the difficulty of learning and teaching Thai art, followed by teaching methods, instructional media, classroom activities, and previous knowledge, respectively.
2. Suggestions for improving the teaching methods of Thai art from students in the Art educations program at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, are as follows: adapting teaching methods to be more relevant to the current era, incorporating modern teaching methods into the curriculum, and enabling self-learning for students.
3. Suggestions from Thai art instructors include the following: adjusting teaching methods to be more relevant to the current context and in line with the school's context, seeking innovative instructional media or materials to generate students' interest and prevent boredom.
