Abstract

The purposes of this study were 1) To study the administration of the schools in Nayung
Nonthong Cluster, and 2) To study and gain guidelines for developing the administration of the schools
in Nayung Nonthong Cluster. The population and samples were 9 schools of Nayung Nonthong Cluster.
Purposively sampling, 45 informants included 9 administrators and 36 teachers. The research
instrument was 5 rating scale questionnaire of 60 items; the index of item objective congrurnce (IOC)
was between 0.67 – 1.00 with 0.96 reliability. Content based analysis was adopted to explain the data
while the statistics of percentage, mean and standard deviation were also employed for data analysis.
The research findings were as follows : 1) The administration of the schools in Nayung
Nonthong Cluster, as a whole, was at the high level. These aspects of school administration were
arranged from the highest to lowest: personnel administration, general administration, budget
administration and academic administration. 2) These guidelines for developing the school administration
were obtained. To develop academic administration, meetings among administrators, teachers, and
school committee should be organized to discuss and prepare for developing school curriculum;
the teachers’ learning activities should be learner-centered. Of budget administration development,
systematic and transparent management of finance and procurement is recommended. The budget
disbursement should be reported to the superiors; the financial reports should be examinable and
updated. Regarding the development of personnel administration, it was suggested that the data
concerning the teachers including other educational personnel should be completely surveyed and
collected. The manual of school administration should be constructed and given to the personnel. To
develop the personnel’s work potential, they should be given the opportunity for self-improvement on
the basis of their needs, aptitudes, interests, and capacities. Regarding the development of general
administration, it was recommended that supportive staff who will be in charge of administration jobs
should be recruited for all schools. The environment which is favorable for learning should be
constructed. School buildings and offices should be prepared to get ready to serve the community.
Schools should collaborate with the community. Learning resources should be improved. Schools should
take part in communal activities to create network. Any educational movement and information should
be publicized and sent outside the schools.
