Authentic Assessment for Aircraft Maintenance Technician Students in Intensive Chinese Language Proficiency Preparation Course

Abstract
The objective of this action research is to study the Authentic Assessment Model for aircraft maintenance technician students in Intensive Chinese Language Proficiency Preparation Course and satisfaction used the Authentic Assessment Model. The sample group consists of first-year diploma-level aircraft maintenance technician students from Khon Kaen Vocational College, who are preparing to continue their studies at vocational colleges of P.R. China in their second year, with a total of 15 participants. The instrument research are guidelines for Authentic Assessment for aircraft maintenance technician students, learning logs, observation forms and questionnaires for the satisfaction of participants in authentic assessment in Intensive Chinese Language Proficiency Preparation Course.
The research results are found that: The Authentic Assessment Model for aircraft maintenance technician students practice consisted of students’ pre-course assessment, in-course progress evaluation, post-course learning outcome assessment, and follow-up evaluation for the application of knowledge to be used in Intensive Chinese Language Proficiency Preparation Course. The assessment components within the authentic assessment include instructors, observational instructors, student self-assessment, and peer assessment. The aircraft maintenance technician students are satisfied with the authentic assessment by reflecting that the evaluation, covering various language learning skills, is fair and impartial, provides valuable self-reflection opportunities and contributes to personal development before concluding the accelerated curriculum. Furthermore, they exhibit confidence in their own assessment system.
