THE ROLE OF ADMINISTRATIVE MONKS IN THE MAHANIKAYA DEPARTMENT IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF SONGHA AFFAIRS IN NAKHONPHANOM PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this research are 1) to study the role of administrative monks in the Mahanikaya department in the administration of Sangha affairs in Nakhon Phanom province.2)To compare the role of administrative monks in the Mahanikaya department in the administration of Songha affairs in Nakhon Phanom province classifying by personal factors.3)To study obstacles and find out the solutions to develop the role of administrative monks in the Mahanikaya department in the administration of Songha affairs in Nakhon Phanom province. This is mixed methods research. Sample group for quantitative research are the Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor, the Ecclesiastical Vice Governor, the Ecclesiastical District Officer, the Ecclesiastical Deputy District Officer, the Ecclesiastical Commune-Chief, the Ecclesiastical Deputy Commune-Chief, the Abbot, the Deputy Abbot, the Assistant Abbot and the Acting Abbot, 282 monks in total. Sample group for qualitative research will apply purposive sampling, selected 8 monks. The research instruments are questionnaire, interview, focus group which shows .95, with statistical significance set at the .05 level. The results of the research found that 1) the overview of the role of administrative monks in the Mahanikaya department in the administration of Sangha affairs in Nakhon Phanom province is at high level, to consider that Sangha administration, administration efficiency, general administration, public mind, and role of administration respectively. 2) To compare the role of administrative monks in the Mahanikaya department in the administration of Sangha affairs in Nakhon Phanom province found that Sangha leaders with different years of ordination, general education qualifications, religious education qualifications, positions, and work experience as Sangha leaders have different opinions on the role of the administration of the Mahanikaya Sangha at a statistically significant level of .05. 3) Problems, obstacles, and guidelines for developing the role of the Sangha in managing Sangha affairs in Nakhon Phanom Province. Monks who are responsible for promoting and nurturing Buddhism to prosper. Building faith among Buddhists. The role of the monks is to help ensure that systematic administration through the administration of the Sangha's affairs ensures that its success is sustainable and permanent.To be efficiency is what the Sangha must do or must consider as a duty related to the Sangha and religion. There was a joint effort to drive forward the strategic plan for reforming Buddhist affairs, and guidelines to practice are consisting of 6 areas: Governance, Religious education, Propagation of Buddhism, Public Utilities and Public welfare education, leads to helping organizations develop themselves appropriately.
