Abstract

This research article aims to: 1) examine differences in purchase intention via the TikTok application based on demographic factors among Generation Z consumers in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, and 2) investigate the influence of perceived credibility of Artificial Intelligence-generated content (expertise, trustworthiness, attractiveness, and similarity) on purchase intention via the TikTok application. This quantitative study collected data via an online questionnaire from a sample of 400 Generation Z consumers. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Independent Samples t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA).

The findings revealed that education level, marital status, and average monthly income were associated with statistically significant differences in purchase intention at the 0.05 level, whereas gender, age, and occupation showed no significant differences. Regarding the regression model, all four dimensions of perceived AI credibility significantly and positively influenced purchase intention at the 0.01 significance level (R = 0.743, R² = 0.552, F = 121.755, p < 0.001). Based on standardized regression coefficients (β), perceived expertise exerted the strongest influence on purchase intention (β = 0.252, p < 0.001), followed by trustworthiness (β = 0.198, p = 0.001), similarity (β = 0.197, p = 0.003), and attractiveness (β = 0.177, p = 0.004), respectively.
