Abstract

Language and culture are an inseparable relationship. Learning any kind of language is inseparable from the study of culture. As a compulsory course for majors in Chinese as a foreign language, the Chinese literature course is the carrier of spreading Chinese culture and has distinctive characteristics of the times. Due to the huge amount of information, it is not easy for foreigners to study Chinese literature. Based on many years of practical literature teaching experience, some feasible teaching suggestions are put forward. It includes five aspects: teaching content, teaching methods, teaching materials, teacher matching and students' interests in response to some problems which arise in the teaching process. In terms of teaching methods, a student-led and teacher-inspired approach can be adopted to actively cultivate the thinking, summarizing and expression abilities of Thai students. In addition, in terms of the teaching content, we should know how to choose scientific and reasonable articles, and use the way of reading out the works in class. Also, we need to closely integrate the knowledge of literary history with the social background. In terms of textbooks, we can choose self-compile or use literature textbooks suitable for Thai students. From the perspective of teacher professional training, it is recommended to strengthen the training of Chinese literature professionals and increase the training of professional knowledge in literature courses. Finally, it is proposed to improve students’ awareness of the importance and necessity of literature courses.
