Abstract

To tell Chinese stories well at the concrete practice level, we should carefully consider “who will tell, to whom to tell, what to tell, how to tell, what’s the effect”. This case takes the “Mid-Autumn Festival” teaching activities for native Thai Chinese teachers as an example to reflect on the idea of “cross-cultural” narration. On the one hand, Chinese storytelling should have cross-cultural depth, and the essence of culture should be explored deeply. On the other hand, Chinese storytelling should have the cross-cultural breadth and realize the connection between ancient and modern times. To tell A good Chinese story, we should not only tell the story itself well but also show the thinking method of telling the story. In this way, native Thai Chinese teachers can not only gain knowledge but also get enlightenment of the way of telling the story.
