A Case Study on the Acquisition of “de(的)” by Egyptian Mid-Senior Chinese Learners
Main Article Content
Abstract
By analyzing the chat records of an Egyptian mid-senior Chinese learner within 124 weeks, the correct usage, as well as incorrect usage of Chinese character “de”, were observed and show that Egyptian Chinese learners’ ability of using character “de” is inconsistent in different grammatical contexts. From the results of long-term data analysis, this difference in the understanding of different pragmatic functions of the character “de” leads to some regular characteristics of Egyptian learners’ expression in Chinese language.
