Abstract

             China’s National Conditions education is based on the overall goal of “cultivating students’ ability to comprehensively use the language”, providing Chinese learners with rich cultural background and cultural knowledge, so that they can correctly and appropriately use Chinese. However, the education of national conditions does not keep pace with the development of the times, and the teaching of national conditions in China lacks the guidance of a unified teaching syllabus. As a result, the content of national conditions teaching materials is uneven, complicated, redundant, and thick on the past but thin on the present. Thus, this paper, under the guidance of relevance theory, starting from the statistics, applied objects and the selection of the teaching contents of national conditions textbooks, is to analyze the selection of the textbook contents systematically, clarify the problems of selecting the teaching contents, provide new ideas for the development and construction of Chinese national conditions courses in the new era.
