Corona sayings: A teaching model in German lessons for advanced learners

Nowadays Corona disease course dominates our world. Numerous sayings about the gigantic effect of the disease can be found endlessly on the Internet. At first glance, the Corona sayings that can be read on the Internet seem to be assembly line products. They are complicated and point to a fundamentally serious situation. This belief is common among teachers. A closer look reveals a complex but motivating learning subject for German lessons. Everyday situations in reduced, memorable expression and sometimes distorted, shortened to a representation or drawing, offer an arranged cheerfulness in the classroom and, above all, interesting material with which German learners can discover the principles and consequences of an image-text combination. The aim of this work is to show how selected Corona sayings from the Internet can be implemented didactically and methodically in German lessons for advanced learners. In the teaching model presented, access to various Corona sayings is made possible in a systematic and varied way.
