Power relations in contemporary poetry in the column “Kawee Krawad” in Matichonweekly Online and Phan Waen Fah Award Poetry, 2016-2021

Abstract

A research article aims to analyze power relations in contemporary poetry in the column “Kawee Krawad”, with a total 36 issues in Matichonweekly Online and Phan Waen Fah Award Poetry, 2016-2021, with a total 78 issues. The results of the research revealed that there were 4 characteristics of power relations: the power relationship between authoritarian state power and democracy, power relations between good citizens and those who wish to harm the country, and power relations between citizens in urban areas and citizens in rural areas. These power relations represent a representation of Thai political society. A representation of the Thai political society that is still lagging behind Representation of Thai political society called authoritarian democracy and illiberal democracy, as well as representation of a society that still faces inequality.
