Political Thought in “Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin” Manga by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko

Abstract
The research aims to study on Yoshilazi Yashiko's political ideas in the manga aims to study (1) the political ideas conveyed through various characters in the manga "Mobile Suit Gundam: Origins," (2) how the author explains these ideas in the manga "Mobile Suit Gundam: Origins," and (3) whether the manga supports or opposes certain political ideas. This research employs the documentary research method and analysis of related concepts gathered from volumes 1 to 23 of the manga.
The research results show that characters from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Origins" exhibit diverse political ideologies, such as fascism and liberalism, due to their differing statuses and sense of responsibility. In fact, Yoshilazi Yashiko does not explicitly specify political ideologies but uses communication techniques and expressive symbolism to portray distinct political manifestations of each situation. On the other hand, he encourages readers to interpret correctness and appropriateness based on their own political perspectives.
In conclusion, this research suggests that studying manga, as a medium accessible to various genders, groups, and age ranges, facilitates easy and contemporary communication of political ideas. Additionally, manga effectively elevates communication of complex political and philosophical ideas and highlights the diversity of political ideologies that the author seeks to communicate between 1979 and 2023. This reflects the fears within the fascist system and attempts to convey understanding to readers through the manga "Mobile Suit Gundam: Origins," emphasizing the significance of liberal democracy in today's society.
