The Study of the Relationship between Water Resources and the Increasing of Number of Tourists toward the Next Decade in 5 Provinces of North-eastern Part

Abstract
The paper aimed to survey the number of rivers, canals and water resources including the amount of rain, study the sufficient of water consumed for the increasing number of tourists and the impact of natural water: flooding and drought to the area for the next decade. This research was mixed methods: the survey research and qualitative research. An interview was a tool used 100 stakeholders: government and private organizations and local people, and focus group of 580 key informants. Data collected were analysed to set up a strategic plan for the area to reserve water for the next decade. As a result, the researcher found that, in the period between 2015 – 2018 and during the pandemic of COVID-19 in 2019- 2021, the amount of water was sufficient for tourism industry, there was major impact of flooding occurred in Ubonratchathani and Amnatcharoen Provinces; water supply not impact to the area. For the next decade, the number of populations and tourists will increase related to the water supply, however, the authorized organizations should be concerned both drought or flooding and find the way to control and solve the problems. Furthermore, travel by water to see the way of lives should be restored to promote the number of tourists in the area.
