A Comparative Study of State Anxiety of Thai National Swimming Athletes Among the Period of Before, During, and After the Asian Age Group Swimming Championships 2023, Clark City, Philippines

Abstract
This study aimed to comparative study the state anxiety of Thai national swimming athletes among the period of before, during, and after the Asian age group swimming championships 2023, Clark city, Philippines. Populations were 27 Thai national swimming athletes. Research tool was the Revised Competitive State Anxiety Inventory – 2 (CSAI – 2R) translated in Thai version by Pichit Moungnapoe. Analyzing the data by using the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and investigating the difference with the Paired t-test.
Study results found that, the state anxiety at before competition for cognitive anxiety was low level (14.66), somatic anxiety was low level (13.45) and self-confidence was moderate level (26.42), as well as the state anxiety at during competition for cognitive anxiety was high level (32.16), somatic anxiety was low level (16.07) and self-confidence was moderate level (26.34), and the state anxiety at after competition for cognitive anxiety was moderate level (23.04), somatic anxiety was low level (11.02) and self-confidence was low level (19.48). Moreover, there were statistically significant differences between cognitive anxiety at during competition and at after competition, including between physical anxiety at during competition and at after competition, and among self-confidence at during competition, at after competition, and after competition, at Alpha level of .05.
