The Actual and Desirable Characteristics of Physical Education Students in the 21st Century at Private Universities, Academic Year 2023

Abstract

This study aimed to study the actual and desirable characteristics of physical education students in the 21st century at private universities, academic year 2023. Participants were 70 fourth-year physical education students of Faculty of Education from two universities: 37 Rattana Bundit University and 33 North Bangkok University students, with the Proportional Stratified Random Sampling. The research tool was 5-rating scale questionnaire approved the Face Validity by five specialists (IOC = .60-1.00) and the Reliability (r = .98). Data Collection resulted in 70 questionnaires being returned, representing 100 percent. The data were analyzed to seek percentage, mean, and standard deviation. 

The research results show that

1. The actual and desirable characteristics on the academic aspect, overall mean was high level ( = 3.83,  = 3.82). When investigate the means found that the actual characteristic was higher than desirable characteristic. 
2. The actual and desirable characteristics on the moral aspect, overall mean was high level ( = 01,  = 3.98). When investigate the means found that the actual characteristic was higher than desirable characteristic.
3. The actual and desirable characteristics on the human relation aspect, overall mean was high level (  = 14,  = 4.13). When investigate the means found that the actual characteristic was higher than desirable characteristic. 
4. The actual and desirable characteristics on the teaching and learning activity aspect, overall mean was high level ( = 4.03,  = 4.03). When investigate the means found that the actual characteristic and desirable characteristic were equivalent.
