PEOPLE’S PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

Participation in community development is essential for the development of local communities. There are many factors which bring about local development such as participation, community development principles, and community development process, etc. These factors are important and they must be used in the development of local communities. Certainly, the people are the most important factor since they are the main center of development that will make the locality improve in a good way. Therefore, this article was written to present the matters of people’s participation, the concept of local development, the model of people's participation in local development, laws and regulations relating to people's participation in local development and principles of building the people’s participation People's participation in local development is crucial for developing the organizations, communities, localities and the nations to become efficient and effective; it will lead to the improvement of the quality of life of the local people.
