LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE’s PARTICIPATION AFFECTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE SUBDISTRICT AND VILLAGE HEADMEN’s PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES IN WANON NIWAT DISTRICT, SAKON NAKHON PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this research article were: 1) to study the leadership level of kamnans and village headmen; and the level of participation of people in Wanonniwat District, Sakon Nakhon Province; 2) to study the level of the effectiveness in performing of duties of kamnans and village headmen in Wanon Niwat District, Sakon Nakhon Province, and 3) to study the influences of leadership and the participation of the people towards the effectiveness of the performance of duties by kamnans and village headmen in Wanon Niwat District, Sakon Nakhon Province. In the Wanonniwat District area. The samples group consisted of 399 general people. A questionnaire was the instrument for data collection. Statistics used in data analysis including, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression. The research results fouds that 1) the leadership of the kamnans and village headmen in Wanon Niwat District, Sakon Nakhon Province, overall was at a high level. 2) Pople’s participation in Wanonniwat District, Sakon Nakhon Province; was , overall was at a high level 3) In Wanonniwat District, leadershiped influenced the effectiveness of kamans and village headership’s duties, Sakon Nakhon Province statistically significantly at the <.05 level, with the effect of qutocratic leadership (β = .100) having the highest influence (β = .079), followed by indulgent leader side had the highest influence  (β = .079) and democratic leadership (β = .060) had a prediction coefficient of .310. 4) Pubilc participation influenced the effectiveness of kamans and village headership’s duties, in Wanonniwat District, Sakon Nakhon Province statistically significant at <.05 statistical level having the highest influence (β = .172), followed by participation in operations (β = .145), and participation in evaluation (β = .133), and participation in decision making (β = .097), respectively, with a prediction coefficient .282.
