The management of information communication and technology for learning in basic education institutions under the jurisdiction of Phetchabun Primary Educational service Area Office 3

Abstract

The goals of this research were: 1) to examine how well information and communication technology (ICT) is managed for learning and to compare this performance based on the size of basic education schools in the Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3, and 2) to identify the areas where ICT performance needs improvement in these schools. The study included 136 basic education institutions, with 272 school directors and ICT teachers, as well as 9 school directors. The samples were 136 basic education institutions, including 272 school directors and ICT teachers and 9 school directors. The instruments, consisting of a questionnaire and a structured interview, were used for data collection. The data was analyzed by using a computer program to find percentage, mean, standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, and content analysis from a structured interview. The research findings were as follows: 1) The overall performance of the ICT management of the basic education institutions under the jurisdiction of the Phetchabun Primary Educational Service Area Office 3 was at the average level. The basic education institutions under the jurisdiction of Phetchabun Primary under the Educational Service Area Office 3 regarding school size revealed no significant differences. 2) The administrators’ needs for development of the ICT performance to suit the context of the basic education institutions were: 2.1) to develop ICT structure suitable for the basic education institutions, 2.2) to develop an ICT program focusing on educational management regarding efficiency planning and decision-making for educational management, 2.3) to develop curriculum regarding profession and technology, 2.4) to provide training for administrators and teachers about ICT management, 2.5) to promote ICT networks for personal management, 2.6) to develop a website to promote schools’ commitments and activities, and 2.7) to promote assessment and evaluation of ICT, followed by reporting proceedings to the command unit and stakeholders.
