Factors influencing the success of operations in indigo dyeing community enterprises in Sakon Nakhon Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the level of successful operation of indigo dyeing community enterprise, 2) study factor influencing the success of operation of indigo dyeing community enterprise and 3) develop guidelines of indigo dyeing community enterprise operation in Sakon Nakhon province. This research was   mixed-methods research. The quantitative research sample consisted of 304 members from 60 indigo dyeing community enterprise groups. The questionnaire was used. The sample for qualitative research was 11 key informants. The statical analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple linear regression analysis (MLR), and content analysis. The study findings revealed that 1) the overall level of success in the operations of the indigo dyeing community enterprises in Sakon Nakhon Province was high across all aspects. The quantitative research findings were consistent with the qualitative research results, which identified additional factors such as happiness, organizational commitment, and mutual support. 2) The factors influencing the success of operations in indigo dyeing community enterprises in Sakon Nakhon Province were statistically significant at the .05 level, sorted by variables that affected variation in the dependent variables in the standard score format, highest to lowest, as follows: finance and accounting, production, quality improvement, leadership and marketing. The correlation coefficient was .804, which explained 80.40% of the variance. The quantitative research findings were consistent with the qualitative research findings, and additional factors identified included knowledge, technology, and local wisdom. 3) Guidelines for developing the operations of the indigo dyeing community enterprise groups included enhancing leadership skills, establishing an electronic data system, creating a platform for selling community enterprise products, organizing training to improve foreign language skills, and focusing on training in product design and transformation to make indigo dyeing products more diverse and modern.
