Participative management affecting the performance effectiveness of village health volunteers (VHVs) in preventing and resolving drug problems within Waritchaphum District, Sakon Nakhon Province

The purposes of the research were to: 1) examine the level of participative management and performance effectiveness in preventing are resolving drug problems among village health volunteers (VHVs) within Waritchaphum District, Sakon Nakhon Province; 2) analyze the influence of participative management on the performance effectiveness on these VHVs in Waritchaphum District; and 3) establish guidelines for developing the performance effectiveness of VHVs in preventing and resolving drug problems within Waritchaphum District. The sample consisted of 282 village health volunteers (VHVs) within Waritchaphum District, selected via stratified random sampling The research instrument used for data collection was a questionnaire, which demonstrated IOC value was between .80-1.00 and a reliability coefficient of .883. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Multiple Regression, Analysis. The finding revealed that: 1) the overall level of participative management in preventing and resolving drug problems among village health volunteers (VHVs) within Waritchaphum District, was at a moderate level. The overall performance effectiveness of the village health volunteers (VHVs) preventing and resolving drug problems among village health volunteers (VHVs) within Waritchaphum District, was at a high level. 2) Participative management - specifically in the dimensions of role-taking and cooperation-building – exerted a statistically significant influence on the performance effectiveness of village health volunteers (VHVs) within Waritchaphum District at the .01 level, jointly predicting 40.60 percent of the variance in their performance effectiveness. 3) Guidelines for developing the performance effectiveness of village health volunteers (VHVs) within Waritchaphum District indicated that emphasis should be placed on enhancing knowledge, skills, active participation, and support from network partners to enable village health volunteers to perform their duties effectively.
