Abstract

This quantitative study aimed to explore the underlying factor structure of internal organizational factors and to examine their influence on the success of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Chiang Mai Province. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 383 SMEs entrepreneurs in Chiang Mai Province. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentages, means, and standard deviations, as well as inferential statistics, including Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and multiple regression analysis. The findings revealed that the majority of the respondents were female, aged between 31 and 40 years, held a bachelor's degree, operated businesses in the service sector, had over five years of business experience, and employed no more than five employees. Regarding the internal organizational factors, the analysis yielded 5 new factors: human resource management, operational systems, strategy, organizational structure, and organizational culture. Furthermore, the results demonstrated that only three internal organizational factors significantly influenced the success of SMEs in Chiang Mai Province: strategy, organizational culture, and operational systems.
