Academic Development in Alternative Legal Research for the Academic Position

Abstract

This article is to elaborate the conventional legal research approach and alternative legal research approach. Conventional legal research focuses on written and formal laws, experts, and famous cases. In contrast, alternative legal research is significantly different. It focuses on social practices, customary or unofficial laws, ordinary people, and everyday events. Furthermore, alternative legal research will apply theory and approach from social sciences and humanities with various research methodologies.
