This article explores a range of sports participant liability. It particularly examines how law of torts finds its applicability in settling the disputes in the field of sports torts. Using Tort Law contexts it considers the sports policy frameworks underpinning the main impacts of participant liability to co-participants for injuries and violence in professional sports. The law of torts is then explored. A range of torts including risk assumption, liability and negligence are examined and set in the context of sports interest. It then considers the growing range of modern sports torts. Case studies from UK jurisdiction are used throughout and a comparative approach is taken which considers developments of modern Sports Tort Law.
