INFORMATION SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT FOR INKJET EQUIPMENT SHOP: A CASE STUDY OF S.BANSIN SHOP

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to develop a bespoke information system for inkjet equipment shops utilizing (S. Bansin shop) as a case study. Then evaluate the efficiency of and user satisfaction with the implemented information system. We studied the operation process of S. Bansin shop to design a working system to increase operational efficiency. By using a computer system to store and process information including customer information, product type information, product information, ordering information, sales information, and store owner information; data storage becomes systematic and informational accuracy is improved. We utilized Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 to develop an MS SQL based database management system to store data. System performance was assessed by 3 experts and system satisfaction was assessed by 10 users. The results show that the information system implemented at the S. Bansin shop, improves operational efficiency. Reduction in work redundancy, ability to quickly search for product information, and accurate price calculations were the most significant factors that improve efficiency. These protocols reduce the chance of data loss and incentivizes the systematization of the income-expense accounting. The overall performance evaluation results were at a high level ( = 4.28, S.D. = 0.45) and the overall satisfaction evaluation results of system users were at the highest level ( = 4.52, S.D. = 0.53).
