THE ANALYSIS OF COST AND RETURN OF COCOA CULTIVATION : CASE STUDY COCOA FARM OF SAM PHRAO SUB-DISTRICT, MUEANG DISTRICT, UDONTHANI PROVINCE

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the processes of cocoa growing 2) study the cost of cocoa cultivation 3) study the return of cocoa cultivation 4) study the problems and obstacles in growing cocoa. Research showed that the farmers cocoa planting has an Initial investment of 5,650 baht, required a planting area of 2 rai, as well as date 300 cocoa trees, productivity throughout the year, they yielded crops for the first time in the third year, It has sales income of a cocoa in the year 3 - 5 amount of money 94,800 baht The average cost per 2 rai was 86,250 baht, average net profit was 8,550 baht, net profit ratio 9.02%, rate of return on investment 9.91%. Payback period: 5 years, Business strategy Innovation should be added to reduce the problem of electricity costs accounting for 55.65% and water costs accounting for 34.78% by using solar cells. and a drip irrigation system in the garden to reduce production costs
